Water Lane

 

Our Water Lane provision caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years and has the capacity for 51 children at one time. Our Panda Room is for children aged 3 months to 2 years and our Giraffe Room is for children aged 2 to 5 years. Water Lane provides stimulating, exciting areas to play in and encourages children to share ideas and gain valuable social and language skills with peers and staff through play.

We provide a wide range of sensory and exploratory activities and experiences for all of our children and plan around the children’s interests and future learning goals. We also have exciting outside spaces for each of our two rooms with a variety of equipment that is suitable for all ages and stages of development.

 

Fees

 

We are very proud of our excellent childcare at YMCA Trinity Group. Our Water Lane Facility is open daily from 8am to 3pm (during Term Time Only) We feel our prices offer outstanding value for the quality of our nurseries. Please find below our current prices:

Cost of Meals

All meals must be booked one week in advance. Last minute bookings are subject to availability. Children are also able to provide their own packed lunch. We offer a 10% sibling discount for nursery and holiday club sessions. The 10% discount is applied to the oldest child’s booking.

 

Funding

 

You may be entitled to funding for your child’s early learning. There is specific funding for all 3 and 4 year old children, and some funding available for 2 year olds. Three and four year old children are entitled to receive 15 hours of free early years education per week, 38 weeks per year.  This can be administered over three terms or stretched out to suit your needs.

 

When does my child become eligible?

 

  • If your child is born between 1st April and 31st August, they will be eligible for a free place from 1st September following their third birthday, until statutory school age.
  • If your child is born between 1st September and 31st December, they will be eligible for a free place from 1st January following their third birthday, until statutory school age.
  • If your child is born between 1st January and 31st March, they will be eligible for a free place from 1st April following their third birthday, until statutory school age.

 

Two year old funding is not available for all two year old children. Families must meet a set criteria to be eligible and places may be limited. OFSTED Reports

 

YMCA Childcare Water Lane was last inspected by OFSTED on 16 January 2020. We received an overall grading of GOOD, with an OUTSTANDING grade for Children’s Personal Development. The inspector who visited said:

 

  • “Babies and children have fun and enjoy their time in the relaxed and welcoming nursery. They confidently engage with adults and show that they feel safe and emotionally secure.”
  • “Older children are keen to have a go, persevere and enjoy success in their chosen tasks. They show curiosity and enjoy being imaginative.”
  • “Staff show a strong commitment to working with parents and outside professionals, and draw on their expertise effectively to develop carefully tailored support for children with SEND.”
  • “Staff ask questions skillfully and model more complex vocabulary to help extend children’s speaking skills. “
