Hi I’m Jo,
I am a qualified professional Yoga Teacher, I interpret and deliver Hatha Yoga, under the name of Heart Yoga; Classes are Monday and Thursday 6:30pm – 7:30pm for beginners to intermediate.
Monday’s Hatha flows class is aimed at specific chakras such as crown, third eye, sacral and parts of the body hips, internal organs etc. Each pose is held between 4 – 15 deep breaths; working towards more advanced asanas and inversions; purpose to relax the body and mind ready for the week ahead.
Thursday’s is a continuous flow where each pose (asana) flows to the next for an hour covering all chakras and whole-body work out. Holding for 4 – 15 breaths.
You can work at your own pace and step out of the pose and observe to find your own interpretation it’s not a competition; Hatha Yoga’s purpose is to unite the body and mind.
It’s an infectious buzz working with the music too, a positive vibration resulting in physical and mental strength. Bring your mats, blocks and straps!

Mel Obradovic
Bio
Hey my name is Mel, I have been with YMCA for a few years now where I started off working in the gym environment and then progressed to teaching classes. This has allowed me to work with different abilities to help each one achieve their goal no matter what that might be..
I am a qualified Fitness Instructor and a Sports Masseuse, along with some other fitness qualifications so I can really get the best out of you.
I currently teach Mondays’ Senior Circuits which is followed by Stretch and Relaxation. It’s a great way to burn the calories, gain strength and tone up in the first class and then in the second class we stretch our bodies out to gain flexibility and mobility within the joints.
I am also teaching Legs, Bums and Tums on a Thursday evening, and no this is not just a girls group, men are always welcome! This is where we solely focus on these areas of our body and work work work!
I absolutely love my job and I am always happy to help everyone whether that’s advice on exercises or rehabilitation. If I don’t know the answer to what you are asking then I will try and find it out for you.
So, if you ever see me, then say, “Hi”, it will be lovely to meet you.
