Westraven Community Gardens Woodwork Project

The young people from Peterborough have been hard at work at Westraven Community Gardens, creating Christmas boxes from pallet wood. They took great pride in knowing these boxes would be given as Christmas presents to panel members.

Hands-On Learning and Skill Development

About five young people participated in this project, where they measured, sawed, drilled, and screwed the boxes together. This hands-on experience allowed them to learn new skills and take pride in their work, resulting in a great sense of achievement.

Community Spirit and Volunteer Support

The project also saw significant community involvement. A volunteer who works with reparations assisted the young people, while another volunteer from Westraven Gardens helped decorate the boxes. This collaboration highlighted the strong community spirit and the valuable contributions of volunteers.

This project not only provided the young people with practical skills but also fostered a sense of community and accomplishment.
