We understand that arriving in a different country and trying to understand a whole new culture and language, is extremely difficult.
In partnership with the Fostering Changes for Children Team, our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) accommodation aims to help Asylum Seekers, between the ages of 16-21, integrate into the local community.
There are two types of accommodation available for UASC:
- The Ark, a 15-room building, where each young person will have access to their own room with a shared bathroom, kitchen and living space.
- Shared housing across Ipswich, where each young person will have access to their own room with a shared bathroom, kitchen and living space.
During their time with us, young people will have access to a team of support staff, who will help them build their independence by learning important life skills like, cooking and cleaning, the English language, and money management.
Our aim is for residents to positively move forward with their lives after their time with us here.
How to Apply
As this accommodation is specifically for unaccompanied asylum seeking children who are supported by the Fostering Changes for Children Team a part of Children and Young People’s Services. Speak to your social worker from this team and they will refer you.
