A Message From The Chair Of Trustees
Would you make a good trustee?
Being a trustee for a charity isn’t for everyone!
We are looking for individuals who are collaborative, calm and methodical, who can be creative and strategic in thought. Unlike operational roles, trustees do not undertake delivery: rather, they advise, oversee, encourage and exercise governance.
Being a trustee comes with legal obligations: see the Charity Commission explanation HERE
We want our trustees to understand the work of the charity, so we encourage them to meet our teams around the region.
We understand that trustees may have full-time jobs and other commitments – that’s OK – we’re grateful for the discretionary effort they deploy for the charity.
If you can find time for our Board meetings, including the prep time to read and comment on Board submissions, as well as attending other less frequent meetings, and want to help us, please consider applying.
Trustee Roles
If you think you can help Trinity, we want to hear from you!
We are seeking to recruit up to three trustees with extensive experience to strengthen our Board.
Ideally candidates will be based in the region and be available to travel to Board meetings (usually held in Cambridge, six times a year) and other events and meetings from time to time.
Yes, I’m interested, what’s next?
We take time to make sure we’re suited to each other.
We’ll want you to meet some of our senior team and other trustees so you can get a good idea of what the charity is all about, and what being a trustee involves. We’ll also likely invite you to attend a Board meeting as an observer. And finally, if we’re both happy, then we’ll invite you to join the Board.
A trustee’s term of office is normally four years, and trustees can stand for re-election again for a second term.
