Mentoring skills can help you effectively support colleagues, staff and young adults on a 1-to-1 basis in a non-therapeutic way. Using current theory, it focuses on how motivational interviewing and solution focused approaches can be useful in situations ranging for reaching potential to coping with the everyday.
Course Summary
Delivered by mental health professionals the skills learned during this course are applicable to line management, improving performance, facilitating owned, positive change, and developing relationships that contribute to mental health and wellbeing for adults and those they work with. It will give delegates the tools and resources based on tried and tested methods used in our 1-to-1 mentoring programmes, and covers the following: Defining Mentoring, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Approaches, Active listening, Goal Setting and Measuring Impact.
