Where is Babys Belly Button
This week in Easy Peasy Pods we have started our new book ‘Where is baby’s belly button’. In this fun interactive book, we follow different babies playing peekaboo to discover where they have been hiding different body parts such as baby hiding her eyes under her hat.
We started the session by reading through the book with our parents and their children which they enjoyed lifting the flaps over the different pages to find where baby has been hiding, we also had fun playing our own games of peekaboo!
For our activity this week we decided to do some hand and foot art. We got a selection of paints out and paper and the children had a lot of fun painting different parts of their bodies and then making different marks on paper. Some of the children were quite reserved and only used their hands but a lot of the children had a lot of fun getting covered from head to toe in paint and creating different master pieces.
Next week we will be doing something a little different, playing games and singing songs that involve using different parts of our bodies.
This week in Easy Peasy Pods we have been continuing to learn about our bodies by reading through Where is baby’s belly button and uncovering where baby was hiding his hands, eyes and more.
For our activity this week we have decided to do something different and play a few games and sing some songs to help learn about the different parts of our bodies. We played our own game of peekaboo and sung some songs such as head, shoulders, knees and toes; if you’re happy and you know it & more. We had a lot of fun in this session getting on our feet and being active.
This week in Easy Peasy Pods we have been continuing to learn about body parts and used the session to do some body painting. After reading through the book again we taped together some large pieces of paper to make a big canvas and then laid down the children on the paper. We then traced outlines of the children on to the paper and then using different coloured paints filled in our pictures, painting the different body parts different colours and decorating the pictures.
Our parents and babies had lots of fun with this session creating different pictures and painting different outfits on to their pictures.
This week in Easy Peasy Pods we have been learning about our bodies by making monsters. We have had fun making different monster faces and learning that names of all of the different parts of our face, such as eyes, nose and mouth.
We printed lots of wacky pictures of different features of the face such as eyes, noses, ears and also different faces. Our parents and children had lots of fun picking different features and making different monsters and found this session very amusing.
This week in Easy Peasy Pods we have been learning about faces through messy play. We have used different food items to make a face in our messy tray and let the children explore. They had great fun getting their hands stuck in and exploring the different textures and tastes and learning the names of the different features of the face such as the cucumber mouth and tomato nose.
Some of our older children are now starting to recognise parts of their body and are able to say where their nose is and where their eyes are and we have had great fun reading this book.
For our final week of Easy Peasy Pods reads ‘Where is baby’s belly button’ we have been making flash cards. We have printed some key words from the book along with pictures to match these and made cards to help our parents and children develop their language further. We have enjoyed working on this book and the different activities that we have been running in these sessions.
