Weekly football sessions aimed at helping current and ex residents in Cambridge
A weekly football project in Cambridge has been running for three weeks in partnership with St Barnabas Church. The football project takes place every Friday 1pm-3pm and all residents and ex residents are welcome to join in.
The aim is to build stronger links between the YMCA residents and outside communities such as the church and shop holders around Queen Anne House.
This project is funded by the church who have used a pot of money supported by Cambridge City Council.
Each session has a qualified football coach and we play organised games/drills with a match at the end.
We have regular stoppages where the residents can talk about their experiences and any concerns or just update us with what’s going on in their life.
