Night Support Worker

We are looking for someone reliable to oversee our accommodation at night and to support our clients with difficulties and health & safety issues.
Do you have what it takes? Are you a creative thinker, dynamic and have the ability to “think outside the box” when providing solutions?
Applicants need to have a strong sense of professional boundaries with some understanding of the issues relating to young people’s needs and homelessness. Understanding of the challenges young people might be facing is essential.
Our Night Workers are required to keep shift and support records. The ability to communicate well in writing, as well as face to face is important.
Successful applicants need to be confident working alone without supervision, and monitoring the site with patrols and CCTV. Night Workers are required to maintain a watchful, supportive and safe presence, responding to issues as they arise.
This is a Permanent Contract for 40hrs per week, worked on a rota basis that includes some weekends and Bank Holidays. Shifts are worked between the hours of 10.00pm – 8.00 am.
Please note that whilst this post is based in Bury St Edmunds your own car with business insurance is an essential requirement, as at times you are required to travel between our Accommodation Sites in Suffolk.
(Any additional travel expenses incurred by travelling for work purposes can of course be claimed back in accordance with YMCA Trinity Group policy).
