How to Have Conversations That Keep the Child in Mind

In professional situations there are often multiple perspectives, priorities and needs that underpin the conversations we have about young people. This can mean that the voice and needs of the child becomes lost amongst the pressures of finance / time / parental and carer need and so on. This workshop supports staff and volunteers to keep the child or young person at the centre of their conversation and avoid being side-tracked, diverted or confused by the multiple of layers around the situation.

Course Summary

Delivered by mental health professionals this course supports whole setting approached to mental health. Placing the child at the heart or all conversations is a key aspect of safeguarding, encouraging reflection on when this is difficult and exploring ways to re-centre the child will increase staff confidence and focus.
