YMCA is the largest provider of safe, supported accommodation for young people in England and Wales. At YMCA Trinity Group we have eight residential sites and 15 houses, with over 400 units available across our region.

At Bury St Edmunds, we give different levels of support depending on the needs of each young person. There’s supported housing for 16-21 year olds and flats for 18-25 year olds. Each type of accommodation offers the same fundamental service but has unique facilities within the site and in the surrounding areas.

 

Job Role

 

The role will include planning and organising activities, key-working individuals, as well as engaging with all of the young people who live within the projects and supporting them to develop socially, personally and spiritually in order that they may grow in confidence and independence.

You will be required to ensure that all residents receive an appropriate level of support and training according to their individual needs; and will assist residents to access education, employment, training and voluntary work experience.

Experience working with a similar client group and an understanding of the needs and challenges these young people face is essential. Experience delivering group work sessions is desirable, though a full induction and training would be given.

This role will include flexible working hours (20 hours a week) based on residents’ needs.

When there are no activities planned occasional reception duties are included in the role.

Days and Hours

 

The shifts for this role are to be scheduled across 5 days a week, for 5 hours per day.

Days to be worked are flexible but please note that most of the activities will be scheduled during afternoon and evenings, as this is when the majority of our residents are on-site.


Salary and Benefits

 

The salary for this role is £9,328 per year. Additional benefits we offer include:
