Problem Free Futures
The service will provide 7 sessions of Solution Focused counselling for clients identified as ‘at risk’ of enacting domestic abuse. ‘At risk’ clients may be identified due to having previous instances of domestic abusive behaviour towards partners or family members – not involving conviction.
They may also be identified as those who have demonstrated attitudes or values that support or condone such behaviour, or have caused concern due to having circumstances that place them at greater risk of enacting such behaviour in the future. The intervention will not (in itself) provide a domestic abuse intervention. It focuses on addressing symptoms of adolescent depression and generalised anxiety disorders, as a means of reducing the risk of adolescent domestic abuse both presently and in the future.
